About eight months ago, I came up with the wonderfully bright idea to write an I Heart short story to be published alongside The Single Girl’s To-Do List. I loved all my new characters but I missed Angela. And more importantly, I missed Jenny. I couldn’t help but wonder (Carrie Bradshaw stylee) what she’d been up to in LA, what she’d been doing since she got back to New York and how she was coping being on her own since Angela got back. And I couldn’t wait until I Heart Vegas to find out.
But then of course, I became all wrapped up in writing The Single Girl’s to-Do List, drinking gin, getting my heart mangled, having the flu, drinking more gin and generally not doing it. Then, when I was in London last month, my publishers asked if I was still thinking about writing that short story.
I believe I may have blanched somewhat. It went a bit like this:
Publisher lady: We’d really like you to write that short story.
Publisher: The Jenny one.
Publisher: Can you have it done for April 20th?
So yeah, Jenny Lopez Has Had A Bad Week, will be available for digital download on May 9th. So I’d better get on with finishing it.
