I Couldn't Help But Wonder…

A couple of things occurred to me today.

Firstly, next year, it will be ten years since Sex and the City left our small screens. Secondly, I have been called ‘the British Carrie Bradshaw’ almost as many times as I have pairs of designer shoes.

And so, I couldn’t help but wonder, in the decade that has passed since the girls left our lives (let’s pretend the movies never happened, ‘kay?) have we learned anything? About men? About our friends? About our shoes or ourselves? There’s only one way to find out…

Starting next week, I’m going to try to answer every one of Carrie’s questions, in chronological order, reflecting on my own life as a writer and shoe lover living in New York City and we shall see.

I’m excited about it… and yes, I know it’s horribly self-indulgent but I think it might be fun to live the WWCBD* way for a while.

In other news, there’s a Veronica Mars movie now and I’m so excited.

*What Would Carrie Bradshaw Do?

  1. Nice idea. I’m waiting for your opinion about “models and mortals (se01ep02?) – r men still so crazy about them in NYC? Btw, have u watched the “Carrie diaries” already? If yes what d’u think about it?

  3. Fab idea!! But only if you promise to show off your shoe collection too, I still don’t think Carrie nailed that one. People only really remember the blue manolo’s – and they were from the film that we’re pretending didn’t happen!

    Good Luck!

  7. Ashleighsteaparty: What about the silver manolos that get stolen from the child’s party? And the stripy manolos when Carrie goes to the Women in the Arts lunch to see Natascha? The fluffy shoes Carrie uses to entice Berger? AND the Mary Jane’s when Carrie visits the Vogue wardrobe…and many many more! LOVE SATC, can’t wait to rread your posts on this subject Lindsey xx

  10. I did learn that Mr. Big never is, was or will be the right guy to choose. Not as long as their is an Aidan in your life. I was in the same situation as Carrie and after I saw what happened with her and Big (lets pretend just for a sec there were movies … ) I knew I had to go with my Aidan. I Don’t regret one single moment.
Well, maybe the fight about my clothes that had to leave for his “shit”. *sighs* awww, the good fight.
    Cheers from Germany,
