Red Lip Lovers

Guys, I don’t want to make too big a deal about this but I’ve finally found my dream red lip combo.

I know.

Everyone always told me there was a read for everyone and I’ve definitely flirted with some shades before but now, now, it’s the real thing. Now I’ve found the one. Or, technically speaking, I’m in a threeway relationship. Ladies (and gents, if you’re so inclined) prepare thyself… Meet my new lovers. Urban Decay 24-7 Glide On Lip Pencil in Classic Red and with YSL Glossy Stain in Rouge Enamel.

This is literally the most gorgeous combo. Lining and filling my lip with the pencil gives me the perfect base that also evens out the shape of my lips and the glossy stain gives my pout, well, a glossy stain. Because both products are long lasting, you’re not going to get awkward, uneven wear and the patent shine of the YSL stain creates the most glam, gorgeous colour – a true, Hollywood red that looks perfect against cool-toned, pale skin. I’m in love.

Admittedly, neither of these are the cheapest products in my arsenal but the look is so impactful, it works glammed up or dressed down. With summer slipping away, is there anything better than sticking on your skinny jeans, ballet pumps and a stripy top then slicking on a bright, jammy red lip? It makes me feel terribly grown up and sophisticated. Even if I’m only wearing shoes because I’m going to the shop to buy dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets.

Also, just so you know, I did try to take a photo for you but sweet Jesus, I looked like shit. Nothing to do with the lipstick and everything to do with being shmammered at an 80s night on ‘summer screwdrivers’ on the night in question… least said, soonest mended.
