Lindsey Loves… Blush

For whatever reason, there has been an impressive run of new cheek products of late and as The World’s Palest Woman*, I’m a huge fan of the rosy cheeked look. There are few faces that can’t be improved with a healthy flush and how else are you going to get it? Exercise? HA. Sex? HAHAHAHAHA. Spending fifteen quid is less likely to give me a stitch or an STD. Here are some of my new faves.

Clinique’s Cheek Pops have become, quite possibly, my favourite blusher of all time. I know that sounds like a bold claim but honestly, I love them so much. There are four shades so you’re sure to find one that suits your skin tone, personally, I’m obsessed with Berry Pop and wear it more or less every day. The texture of the product, the beautiful natural finish and the long-lasting wear make me so happy and if that wasn’t enough, the packaging is pleasingly chunky and HOLY SHIT, IT’S SO PRETTY. I cannot recommend them enough. Go, buy, be happy.

On a recent trip to the UK, I picked up the new Boots No. 7 Pop & Glow Cream Blush Stick. Let’s just get the fact that it’s a stupid name out of the way and concentrate that I really like the products. It’s easy to apply, easy to move around and gives a lovely, natural finish. You can build the coverage to get the exact look you want and what’s more, it’s incredible portable and all you need to apply is clean fingers. Make sure they’re clean though, you mucky pup.

I also got my mitts on the Seventeen Cheek Stamp Blush. I will admit, I only bought it because it looked adorable. I am an idiot. Happily, it turned out to be really, really good. Applying the product is SO MUCH FUN that I would advise you tread very lightly when you start out. The super awesome fun times spring loaded cheek stamp delivers a very healthy amount of product and as with all blushers, it’s easier to add more than to take away. There’s very little downside here, it’s inexpensive, it’s long-lasting and when you first pop it on, you look like Rag Dolly Anna. Did I mention there’s a super awesome fun times spring loaded stamp applicator?

The final product I’ve been trying out is the Nars Matte Multiple in Laos, a rose coral. I’ve long been a fan of the original Multiples (I travel a lot, I love a multi-use prod) but they can be very shimmery. Also, I am still embarrassed telling people I’m wearing Orgasm. Hee. I can’t say it without laughing. Orgasm. Hee. Anyway, the Matte Multiple gives the same great colour payoff with a nice amount of slip to ensure great blending but without the glittery, shimmerface. I love Laos and find it super wearable on the cheeks and lips and it will certainly be in my travel bag when I next get to the airport. I’m also itching to get hold of Siam, a clean poppy red, but it’s sold out every time I try Sephora.com. GET IT TOGETHER, SEPHORA.

Cough. Sorry.
