The Twitterati: Lindsey Talks to Leah

Today’s Twitterati is Leah from Girls Love to Read… I love to read! WHAT A COINCIDENCE!
Also, we both support Man Utd and we both have our dad’s noses. I am loving these interviews, people…

Hi, Leah! Tell us a little about yourself…
Hello! My name is Leah, I live in Tenerife, and I work at Iceland (the supermarket!!). I’m addicted to books, reading, Manchester United (for my sins – we’re in it together, Lindsey) and American TV shows like The Vampire Diaries, Arrow, Suits, Chicago Fire and way more). I’ve been blogging for five years at Girls Love To Read and I love to read!
Bad news, you’re stuck on a desert island for ten years*. Which three albums are you taking with you? *good news, it’s a nice one.
Hmmm, I’m not a big album listener, I generally just listen to whatever songs I enjoy that’s on the radio at work, but I’d take Ocean Avenue by Yellowcard, Chapman Square by Lawson and Red by Taylor Swift. I LOVE Taylor Swift. Who doesn’t, though, right?
And you can have one person on the island with you… who is it?
Do I have to? Not to sound unsociable but I’d rather just go by myself, but if I could take ANYONE in the world, ever, I’d probably take Ryan Reynolds. I love him plus no one else would choose him cos everyone else is obsessed with the Gosling.
That is an amazing answer. Tell us about your all-time favourite book
My all-time favourite book is Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin. I adore this novel. It’s Giffin’s debut and it’s about best friends and cheating and whether it’s okay or not (it isn’t) and I generally don’t like cheating in books, but I loved Dex and Rachel’s story plus Darcy was a bit of a cow. It was so well-written, so enjoyable, and I’ve read it many, many times. Plus the film was great, which is always a plus!

Interesting. First time I saw it and now, whenever it’s on, I can’t turn it off! I hated If you could travel through time to anywhere, where would it be?
I’m kinda okay in the time I’m in. I don’t hanker to go back to the olden days although it would be nice to visit the twenties just to see the flapper dresses and all the fashions. But I think I was quite lucky to be born when I was, this is the sweet spot before the robots (or mobile phones) take over!

Completely agree with you. Maybe we could go to a Gatsby party together and then come home. What would be your dream superpower?
I would LOVE to be able to read minds. Just to know what people really think of me! No one would be able to lie to me and I’d be able to trip people up with their lies, it would be great.

Who would play you in the story of your life?
Rachel Bilson. I adore her, she just has this way about her that no matter what I see her in, I love her. So I think she’d do a pretty good job, but if they ever do make a film of my life, they must be REALLY scraping the barrel. My life is DULL.

Congrats! You have unlimited funds and you can buy one thing; what is it?
An around-the-world plane ticket! 🙂 I long to travel the world, see Australia, see all 50 American states… It would be an absolute dream come true.
What do you see when you look in the mirror?
My dad’s nose! I generally try not to look at myself in the mirror, I’m one of those people who isn’t entirely happy with their looks. But sometimes, when I dress up and put make-up on, I don’t look too shabby! But, man does it take work!
What would make you happiest right now?
A lottery win would be nice. An England World Cup victory. A trip to Australia. A KFC, I am DYING for a KFC, it’s been far too long since I’ve had a KFC. A job that paid for me to read all day. Did I mention a KFC?

You can find lots more about Leah and her beloved books (although there isn’t as much about KFC) at her blog, Girls Love to Read. Alternatively, you can see us tweeting sadly at each other about Man Utd on Twitter.
